Robert Bruce “Buie” Brown
November 11, 1949 - July 29, 2022
With sadness in our hearts, we share the peaceful passing of our beloved Buie, son of the late Robert Bruce Sr. and Edith Brown. Predeceased by his loving wife Colleen in 2012. Buie will forever be remembered for his smile, his kindness, and his stories. At age 7, his love of cars began with tinkering on his Dad’s Studebaker. He purchased his first car, a 1952 Plymouth, at the age of 13. His first Hot Rod, a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe became the first of many at 18 years of age.
Buie was notorious for not attending school and for not being a morning person. He would be the first one awake if a car show was happening though. In his life he built, raced and judged cars. These accomplishments brought him great happiness and satisfaction. As well as car memorabilia, we cannot forget his Mickey Mouse Collection, his T-shirt collection, his infamous car parts, and his love of Werther Original Hard candies. Everyone who knew him, has a Buie story. He had a great sense of humour and has left us with many memories.
He will be forever remembered by his brother Jack, sisters Susan (late Dan), Audrey (Butch), daughter Nancy (Corey) and all his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Buie had many friends north and south of the border who will miss him dearly. He never met a stranger.
He felt blessed to have Lorrie come back into his life on October 31, 2019. Their story is a true love story.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 1, 2022 from 1 to 4 pm at The Royal Canadian Legion, 484 Bay St., Port Perry, ON.
