Obituary for John Carl Peter Stringer

John Stringer 1954-2019. On April 15th as a result of pancreatic cancer. John is survived by his wife Elaine (Edgley), daughters Holly and Rachel, step-daughter Meaghan (Matt) and grandchildren Logan, Adrianna, Elliott, and Cayden. He will be missed by sisters Elaine, Jackie, and Louise, brother Bob (Pat), sister-in-law Sharon and brother-in-law Wayne (Lee), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his four-legged family Buddy and Leo. As per John’s wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 5th from 2-5 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 258 (45 Lawson Rd, Scarborough, ON M1C 2J1).
The family are very grateful for all the excellent support they have received in the past year from Princess Margaret Hospital, Sunnybrook, and Lakeridge Health Oshawa, particularly Dr. Rothenstein, Dr. Vincent Ho, and also palliative nurse Alison Dunn. If desired, donations can be made to the Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre at 360 Columbus Rd. E. in Whitby. Online condolences may be left at www.newcastlefuneralhome.com

Just found out that John passed away. He was friends with my brother who also passed away several years ago, so I've known John since I was a kid. Although we fell in and out of contact over the years, my memories of him as a gentle character and an entertaining person will remain for the rest of my life.
