Obituary for Yvonne Margaret Kingyens

It is with immense sadness that we announce that Yvonne passed away suddenly at home in Whitby on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, in her 72nd year. After some health issues over the past few years, she had been strong and doing well, just having gone on a lovely family vacation, and her passing was unexpected.
A beautiful light has left the earth. Yvonne was a source of comfort, warmth, and joy to anyone who encountered her. She always had a charming smile to share with others, and she made friends and chatted with people everywhere she went.
Born in Belleville, Yvonne grew up in Batawa and Trenton, with a few years of family life spent also in Montreal.
Yvonne is predeceased by her loving parents, Ron (Roland) and Jean Crevier. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Dennis in 1970, and together they had an incredible 41 years of marriage, living the majority of their life in Bowmanville.
She was devoted to her family and her daughter Jessica, and after Dennis passed away in 2011, she moved to Whitby to be closer to Jessica and her son-in-law Chris, and her grandsons Tait and Charlie. She loved her grandsons fiercely, and they her. She was always there for her family, always willing to jump in and participate, always caring, and always so thoughtful and selfless. She and her daughter Jessica were extremely close, supporting each other. Tait and Charlie will miss all their special rituals with their Ma, especially their weekly sleepovers. This was cherished time for both Yvonne and her grandsons.
Yvonne was treasured by her brother Rick Crevier, and nieces Alicia and Tanya, who often traveled and visited from Alberta. She will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law Sharon Crevier. She was a shining light who touched many hearts, and she will be missed by her many friends, both life-long friends, and new friends she made in her community of Whitby Shores where she spent her last 7 years with her family. She loved coffee and lunch outings with her friends, spending time in her gardens when the weather was agreeable, and cuddling with and caring for her adopted rescue cat Misty (that her grandson Charlie named for her).
Yvonne’s family and friends find comfort in all of our wonderful memories of our time with her, and that she is now wrapped in the loving arms of her husband Dennis, who she never stopped grieving or missing in the 7 years since they parted.
She was and is a most beautiful soul, who now has her wings. Forever and always our special and loving Mom and Ma.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 31st, from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Whitby Yacht Club, 701 Gordon St. Whitby, ON L1N 5S4. At approximately 3 p.m. we will share a slide show of photo memories, but please drop in at any point should you wish to share in memories and raise a glass to Yvonne and a life well lived.
Two charities close to Yvonne’s heart were the Sick Kids Foundation and Humane Society of Durham Region. Should you wish to make a donation in her memory please visit: OR
