Obituary for Allen Peter Marengeur

MARENGEUR, Allen P. (Al) – It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Al on Friday, February 8, 2019, in his 53rd year. Predeceased by his parents Madeline Miller and Alfred Marengeur. Very special friend to Kathleen, your friendship and care for Al will forever be remembered. Treasured and much loved brother of Christine and dear friend of brother-in-law Terry. Younger brother of Lynn (Rick), and Michael. Uncle Al will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his nephews TJ and Brandon. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and always remembered for his big personality and his kind heart when it comes to helping others. He had a heart as big as the outdoors. To respect Al's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family memorial interment will take place at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be made online at Arrangements entrusted to Newcastle Funeral Home Ltd. 386 Mill Street South, Newcastle, Ontario L1B 1C3.

I will always love you, little bro. My heart is broken by your sudden and unexpected passing. I will forever cherish the childhood experiences and memories we share: our visits to the old Riverdale Zoo, with the enormous cement rabbit mound and rabbits hopping in and out of all the rabbit holes, and the screaming monkeys in the monkey buildings; the annual Santa Claus Parade, and the mesmerizing Christmas windows at Eaton's and Simpson's; tobogganing on the hills in Winter, I would ask you to come with me with a promise to pull you home afterwards; waiting in line in the Summer heat to swim at the pool, remember the hot pavement on the road and how it burned our bare feet as we ran across to go to the pool; the huge crowds and free Rock Concerts in Greenwood Park; playing in Horsey Park; the Summer ferry boat rides, and visiting Centerville with all the rides and the Animal Farm, remember the funny incident with the horse... we laughed, and laughed together, so hard till it hurt, and feeding the ducks in the pond with the Swan ride; afterwards, on the other side of the bridge we would run through the Garden Maze, over and over again. Allen, I will always be honoured by your heartfelt love and support... (you were just 18 and I was 20) you were bursting with love and beaming with the biggest smile on your face, when you took my arm under yours and walked me down the aisle on my Wedding Day, and gave me away. Now 35 years later, Terry tells me that you thanked him for giving your sister a wonderful life! "Remember the days when we were young, we'd sit in the sandbox and chew bubblegum... " (it was only a short time ago, Allen, that you recalled this poem to me... remember how surprised and excited I was as we recited it together, word for word. Allen, I wasn't aware that you even knew about the poem, I remember writing it when I was 13, you would have only been 11 ... HOW AMAZING.) Allen, my heart is filled with memories that make me laugh and cry, I miss you so very, very much. I hope you found your dear friend Corey, and beloved Thor, and the fishing is amazing where you are! I'll love you forever little bro, Chris. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO (reposted 13 Apr 19)

Christine Lynn and Michael my heart goes out to you at this difficult time I just found out about Al's passing just recently.i am writing this with tears in my eyes. I have been trying to reach Al over the pass few years but no luck.He did come to visit me a few years ago an we had a little chat.Al I am in total shock heartbroken and saddened of your sudden passing. The best 14 years of my life were spent with you and our dog Thor if I could turn back the clock I would do it all again. I will allways cherish the memories we had together. As for the pictures posted above they were the best times of our lives on our trip to Newfoundland which we really enjoyed.I remember us going to the cottage and we decided to take a walk up river we walked for miles until we came to a mountain that we climbed and once we were to the top we felt like we were sitting on top of the moon.Coming back down wasn't so easy we had to slid on our behind to get back down. You enjoyed spending you time fishing in the boat with my brother and helping my mom bag fish. We also had great times going up north camping with our dog Thor and friends . You allways treated me good and allways there for me you had a heart of gold and was allways there to help others. You will allways be in my heart and never forgotten . Until we meet again RIP I will allways love you I will visit you at your resting place Love Eva xo
